About the role:
Senior Financial Accountant with previous experience in asset and capital accounting required for a 6 month assignment within our clients State Government department. You will be providing high-level support to the Financial Accounting Manager.
Duties:
- Contributing to the development and review of policies and procedures that will assist the department in their obligations under the Governments financial management framework
- Providing insight and recommendations in the preparation and analyis of capital project reports, reconciliations and presentations on a variety of complex asset management and budgetry issues
- Applying your knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Reporting Requirements to provide accurate and professional advice to Business Groups
- Collaborate with the finance team to implement and maintain effective internal controls and maintain up to date knowledge of best practices in asset accounting
- Support the Capital, Maintenance and Asset Accounting Manager as required
Skills and experience:
- Recent Police Clearance
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting
- CPA Certification or other relevant professional certification
- Confident with the ability to effectively communicate your ideas
- Ability to build and mainain working relationships with key stakeholders
