We aim to be the envy of the market.As a Senior Claims Adjuster, you will play a vital role in fulfilling this vision by proactively managing claims from start to finish, ensuring that all key stakeholders are continually kept abreast of claims developments, and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible claims outcome.You will work closely with Delegated Claims Partners, other members of the Claims team, and other departments to ensure that claims are resolved quickly and fairly, in accordance with Canopius claims vision, claims practice and procedures, and all regulatory requirements.As a senior member of the claims team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Claims Manager by providing comprehensive training to staff on specific operational aspects and product classes, overseeing high-profile claims, contributing to the development and refinement of claims processes and procedures, and serving as a trusted mentor and point of reference for junior staffs.Responsibilities will include:
  • You will spearhead project initiatives from commencement to completion and continuously look for ways to improve the claims process with the required stakeholders.
  • You will have a thorough understanding of the underwriting and claims portfolio within your Product and Divisional Classes.
  • You will drive excellent claim outcomes and monitor results, ensuring that the portfolio is appropriately reserved consistently.
  • You will provide meaningful input to reporting obligations, claims and reserving, and ad-hoc stakeholder engagement frameworks.
  • You will support the Claims Manager with preparing meetings with external and internal stakeholders including minute taking, distribution of relevant information and execution of action items.
  • You will be the referral point for claims in your portfolio and for Junior Canopius claims staff, escalating potentially significant claims or issues for input on strategy and/or reserving.
  • You will proactively handle claims including high profile and contentious matters from notification to payment, ensuring that they are resolved quickly and fairly, in accordance with Canopius policies and procedures
  • You will drive high performance by handling claims within your authority, in accordance with Canopius policies and procedures, meeting regulatory requirements and achieving KPIs.
  • You will effectively oversee delegated claims partners and service providers and ensure effective oversight and collaboration with outsource partners.
  • You will analyse claims data and provide meaningful input to various internal and external stakeholders regarding claim trends, performance, and deliverables.
Skills and experience:
  • Experienced claims practitioner with a minimum of 6 years of experience in handling Casualty and property claims.
  • Experience with TPA management (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, networking, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Strong client management skills
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory issues
  • Experience using data and analytics to analyze claims data
  • Proficient in using standard applications (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Visio)
  • Understanding of claims operations
  • Visa requirements to work in Australia
