About the role
Brisbane or Gladstone based and reporting to the Executive General Manager Trade and Development the Senior Commercial Lawyer will work collaboratively within the portfolio to provide timely and commercially focused advice and assistance in managing the commercial legal aspects and risks of Gladstone Ports Corporations business objectives.
As the port enters a new phase of growth, you will provide well-reasoned recommendations and adopt a commercially pragmatic approach to enable high quality decision making within acceptable risk parameters. A future focused role you will also negotiate and manage complex contract and commercial documentation as well as supporting the commercial team with the interpretation and/or resolution of contractual disputes.
In addition, you will also ensure that the organisation complies with the laws relating to their broad property portfolio and maintain awareness of, and advise on, relevant external legal developments in the Commercial sector.
About the person
An experienced lawyer with at least 7 years PAE, you will have demonstrated relevant expertise and experience in drafting and negotiating a broad range of complex contractual documentation and utilising your effective influencing and negotiating skills to deliver new business to an operating reality.
Proactive and solutions focused with excellent communication and relationship-building skill, you will be able to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
