Senior Communications Adviser

Level 6 | Full Time – Fixed Term Opportunity until 30 June 2024 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Communications Adviser in the Climate Resilience branch you will coordinate and undertake the development of communications strategies, industry events, initiatives, and projects, and create content for a range of platforms. Providing oversight and guidance and working collaboratively with the branch and other teams within DPIRD including corporate communications to plan, create and execute content to assist the Department achieve desired outcomes.

Strong problem-solving experience to develop and implement communication strategies will be required. Demonstrated capacity to support projects with both effective strategic and tactical external and internal communication and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience to think outside the box to develop, write and supervise the production of engaging content and events across a range of communication tools and platforms.

This is a fast paced, demanding but team orientated position, so the ability to be flexible and resilient, and work constructively is critical.

An understanding and familiarity with primary industries and regions is highly desirable.

Having the capability to work outside the normal span of hours and including weekend work on specified occasions will be highly valued.
