About the role

Job Responsibilities:
Be a trusted adviser and support Apex’s Compliance function in Melbourne and Sydney.
Lead and coordinate the regulatory update in the APAC region. Keep abreast of the compliance and regulatory changes and advise as appropriate. High-flyer will have the opportunity of supporting other Asia Pacific countries including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan & Singapore as appropriate on other compliance matters including Apex’s M&A projects.
Advising on compliance issues relating to AML, KYC, FATCA, CRS etc. and other compliance related requirements, AML due diligence, PEP and Sanction checks on client and investor files.
Work with Head of Compliance in Apex Melbourne & Sydney and the APAC Compliance team on suspicious activity and reporting to regulatory authorities.
Work with management and the 1st line of defence in identifying areas for enhanced monitoring or training and tracking of Compliance-identified findings. Coordinate the training on processes and procedures for the teams.
Assist with the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures. Partner with the business to develop processes and procedures that improve the quality of service to our clients.
Perform ongoing Anti Money Laundering (AML) monitoring obligations and reporting. Assist in monitoring transfer agent’s services.
Other ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements

At least 2 to 3 years’ solid compliance experience (including local experience and added benefit for the APAC experience) and proven track record relevant to Apex’s business (http://www.apexgroup.com.) will be an added advantage.
Professional Compliance qualification preferred.
Strong people management skill with all levels, excellent problem-solving and analytical capability, being able to work independently and working as a team player. Attentive to details and accuracy.
Organized and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to multi-task, prioritize workloads and manage timescales.
Excellent English proficiency. Good verbal written and drafting skills.
Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, and Access
