We are looking for team members to join in senior and corporate lawyer roles (both permanent and fixed term opportunities available) who have demonstrated experience in ensuring clients are provided with quality legal services, with a particular focus on being commercially astute, proactive, efficient and 'adding value'.
Your role will report into the Retail legal team or the Commercial legal team (as relevant) and primarily provide legal support and advice to ANZ’s retail and commercial divisions as well as support colleagues in the broader Australia Legal team.
What will your day look like
Providing high quality legal services to the relevant businesses within the Australia Retail & Commercial Divisions, including the provision of strategic and proactive legal advice and innovative and practical solutions to assist in meeting business objectives.
Seeking continuous improvement in terms of quality, efficiency and risk management to save time and cost without inappropriately increasing risk, and managing personal expenses appropriately and in accordance with policy.
Ensuring a collaborative approach to dealings within the Australia Legal team, Australia Retail & Commercial Divisions and the wider ANZ Legal & Corporate Governance team.
Ensuring legal risks are minimised by remaining up to date with new legislative developments (including global trends) which have the potential to impact the relevant businesses within your area of remit.
Seeking continuous professional improvement by implementing professional growth and development strategies; developing and growing specialist capabilities; and fostering access to expertise via business relations.

But back to some of the skills –
Bachelor of Laws and admission to practice as a legal practitioner in Victoria.
At least 2 and up to 8 years post admission experience in a law firm (or equivalent position in a corporation) with strong commercial law knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to provide technically accurate, commercially astute and succinct legal advice.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Strong diplomacy, problem-solving and decision making abilities and ability to proactively influencing outcomes.
Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and time management skills.
Willingness to go the extra mile and be a self-starter.
