Great Southern Bank is building a brilliant new banking offering for small business customers, digital from the start, using the best technology available to deliver a new take on small business banking. The Senior Credit Strategy Manager will be central to supporting lending portfolio growth. This exciting opportunity provides the fast-paced challenges of a start-up within the solid foundations of one of Australia’s largest member-owned banks. As a core member of the team, you will help shape and refine credit strategy and implementation to carefully balance credit risk and lending growth.
This role will require you to leverage your extensive credit strategy management experience to develop and implement segment-specific credit management strategies across the customer lifecycle, working closely with Great Southern Credit teams and partner technology teams. You will be responsible for analysing and monitoring credit performance and refining and evolving credit settings to support portfolio growth at acceptable risk settings.
Your key responsibilities will include:
developing and managing an automated decisioning acquisition strategy and models which supports new and existing products, including design, business requirements, test planning and execution, model governance, data requirements etc.
providing thought leadership across teams including Risk, Products, Projects and Data to influence effective design and delivery of leading loan origination pathways and ongoing credit lifecycle management strategies
using robust credit risk management techniques to ensure credit risk models and tools are designed in line with our Model Risk framework including appropriate monitoring and review that drives continuous improvement, monitoring outcomes and performance, application of quantitative techniques, professional credit risk judgement, engagement with internal senior stakeholders and external partners, forums and regulators.
maintaining and monitoring the data and reporting for our credit risk tools and reporting to the executive and credit committee.
leveraging your colleagues in the Credit Risk team, supporting each other with insights and professional opinions to drive outcomes across credit assurance, policy and loan decisioning tools
working closely with the Head of Credit Risk, Head of Product and other department heads to manage our key external risk partners including credit bureaus, open banking data participants, valuation and scorecard providers and validators, and out technology partner
A little bit about you…
You have 10 plus years in senior credit risk management roles within the Financial Services industry with leadership and management experience
You have extensive experience managing credit for small business customers
You understand in detail the end-to-end lending process and policy implications, and have sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards in risk management and compliance
You have strong understanding of credit bureaus, service providers, and technology used for automated and assisted credit decisioning
You have built and executed strategies that support organisational objectives, and developing, implementing and managing complex quantitative models
You are highly numerate and analytical with a proven track record of using data to identify opportunities, forming persuasive recommendations and execution
You have proven record of successfully collaborating with third parties to deliver business outcomes
You’re adept at working in Agile delivery teams, and are comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments, but understand that quality always matters
