About the role
In this role you will assist in building and maintaining reports and dashboards, performing analytics and data quality activities across our data domains to aid in business performance monitoring and business decision making. The role requires a strong working knowledge of business trends, and is able to read and analyse data and trends work with business stakeholders to elicit and capture reporting and analytic requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and coordinate the identification, elicitation of requirements, conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment, document and manage requirements and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable.
- Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations in relation to data management
- Use warehouse data and other key data systems to generate reports and analyse key themes and possible impacts to support business decision making and business performance monitoring.
- Create data pipelines to ingest new minor datasets into the Data Warehouse. Partners with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements for reporting & analytics and metrics
- Design, develop and maintain reports, analytical tools, data analytics and reporting platforms including data sources, security, and metadata.
- Assess quality of data, profiling, remediating and cleansing data
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management or equivalent plus relevant post-graduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of formal training.
- Strong Understanding / Knowledge and Experience of ETL frameworks and ETL tools and data languages such as SQL, Python and R.
- Ability to develop data models and Data Architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in data visualisation tools e.g. PowerBI, Tableau etc
- Demonstrated experience in data warehousing, large datasets with strong understanding of key concepts and methods.
- Demonstrated experience with database and integration toolsets, with best practice approaches. Ideally the City’s chosen toolset (e.g., Oracle Data Warehouse, Oracle Cloud Integration) or similar
