We are looking for a Database Administrator responsible for setting up , administering, operating and maintaining complex Oracle database infrastructure and systems that serve as the backbone of business critical Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service offerings. This is your chance to work in a complex HPC environment connected with Database infrastructure (on-prem and cloud),

Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production and migration support across a variety of Oracle Platforms. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.

Main responsibilities:
Database administration position involving: daily Monitoring and maintaining, guaranteeing a 100% Backup (and Restore), Incident- and Problem management, Capacity Management, Change Management, Security Management including authorization, Configuration Management and troubleshooting of Oracle databases in a scaled environment
Assist in Administration and Management of Database platforms like ExaCS and OCC.
Provide new Oracle DB and DB migration solutions to new and existing customers.
Creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs.
Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.
Troubleshoot complex Oracle database issues in accurate and timely manner ensuring compliance to SLAs.
Install, upgrade, and configure the Oracle database environments to successfully set up and manage the IT environment of the customer.
Produce and maintain appropriate documentation and charts describing hardware setups, diagrams, operational procedures, and overall inventory.
Suggests and implements continuous improvements and automation proposals on both the server, as on procedures
Support and maintain technology standards, processes and policies related to prem Infrastructure in scope.
Ensures optimal health and performance of the Oracle infrastructure
First contact to client for all kinds of requests
Setting and keeping up effective monitoring for alerts and capacity analysis and performance
Enforcing Enterprise security policies and procedures on databases
Provides 24x7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members
Provides advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems and advanced technical support for database related project activities

Design, develop, implement and maintain our core Oracle applications.
Ensure DB availability.
Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
Actively seek to optimise and simplify our architecture.
Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB.
Execution of data migration jobs and scripts as required.
Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB.
Support and collaborate with product developers.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
Create a reliable backup strategy. Ensure database backups are appropriately executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards.
Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
Ensure SLA's & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur

Desired knowledge and skills:
Ideally Oracle Certified DB Professional (OCP) with more than 5 years’ experience with Oracle, preferably in a lead role. Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalisation), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies.
Experience in Oracle databases, good understanding of Oracle database architecture, related utilities and tools.
Experience working in Linux and Windows environment
Knowledge of VMWare, Azure, AWS, Jira/Confluence

Knowledge of Database Administration in a production environment at an advanced level.
Very good knowledge of Oracle DB Management, including backups, recovery and maintenance.
Knowledge of Windows Server platforms and server administration
Understanding of backup solutions
Proactive attitude also with keeping of with all new developments for Oracle OCI and OCC/EXACC

Operating system experience in Linux.
Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
Partitioning.
Architecture design principles.
Good problem solver, focused and dedicated developer with ability to work on your own as well as with a team.
Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology.
Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment (11gR2).
Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
Experience with an organisation with a key reliance on 24x7 reliability on its database.

Education-Certifications:
Bachelor's, Diploma, or Degree in a scientific-technical career or higher grade.
Professional Training in Computer Science and Communications Family
At least 5 years of experience in advanced database administration
Desirable certificates: Official Oracle Database (11g: Real Application Clusters course (or higher),

Experience using Oracle Data Guard / Fast Start Failover

Knowledge or experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB)

Knowledge or experience with Oracle GoldenGate
