As part of the Ministerial Services Information Technology team, you will provide expert advice and leadership for the provision of high-quality desktop support services to Ministerial Services clients.
You will play a key role in leading a team of Service Desk analysts and operators and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and delivery of the IT Service Desk and associated functions for the group.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the Service Desk team in technical, and operational aspects to deliver proactive and timely support functions.
- Assist with the planning, controls and resource allocation of tasks and their priority to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meet client needs.
- Ensure that all requests from customers for assistance with technical hardware and software issues are handled promptly and effectively and that customers receive appropriate advice and guidance.
- Ensure that priority setting, and escalation procedures are applied and requests that cannot be resolved are escalated promptly to the appropriate team.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, vendors and service providers on the status of outstanding work.
- Manage and provide day-to-day development of the team to ensure a fully motivated and professional workforce.
- Provide technical advice for desktop operating system administration including product installation, upgrades, licensing, and performance tuning and troubleshooting according to standards, policies, and procedures.
- Regularly monitor the status and speed of resolution of enquiries and incidents and be pro-active in devising improvements and recommending changes to systems, products, or services.
- Maintain an accurate system and procedural documentation in consultation with team members.
- Maintain a desktop environment that is secure from virus corruption and unauthorised access.
- Work collaboratively with Ministerial Service's Infrastructure team and IT management to enhance and develop best practice strategies and solutions that drive greater efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with the delivery of IT projects as required.
