How will I help?
Westpac Banking Platform domain are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the platform team. The purpose of this role is to build solutions and enhance Westpac’s applications which will be used by various customers and consumers to apply. The Banking platform team has several exciting projects that enable new features for our Digital, Lender and Broker Channels.
The role will operate predominantly in an Agile environment, and such will be required to support the technology capabilities to effectively deliver value to customers; and be responsible for leading the design and developing 'fit for purpose' IT and business solutions to meet the requirements of several projects across the Banking Platform portfolio.
You will be responsible for the development of new features in an agile environment, enhancements and fixes to existing products and services, and monitoring of existing products and services using Splunk.
You will also design and develop new screens using enterprise Java using high standard of coding, participate in a highly collaborative environment from requirements gathering through to version release and oversee the refactorization of existing applications to make it more performant.

What do I need?
To be successful you will have the following experience and/or skills:
Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in JEE with strong analytical capabilities.
Excellent design, coding, monitoring and documentation skills.
Strong hands-on experience using current Backend technologies such as Java or Scala.
Commitment to agile development, TDD and pair programming.
Commitment to design patterns, technical documentation, and innovative thinking.
Commitment to improving the company's development processes.
Expert understanding of Git, Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
Experience with Jenkins.
Experience in building Restful API.
Nice to Have
Team leadership experience.
Experience with DevOps, Docker, AWS, Spring, CI/CD.
Experience with Selenium and Cucumber.
Experience of working in Finance industry.
