Description:
Multiple opportunities:
NGH is expanding rapidly. We are growing our biodiversity team and seeking motivated Senior Ecologists and Biodiversity Consultants to join the team. The successful candidates will play a key role in carrying out biodiversity projects in the region, including in large renewable energy and linear infrastructure projects. This could be an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Ecologist looking to broaden their knowledge, manage projects, grow their mentoring experience and work on exciting projects in diverse landscapes and be supported by industry leaders across eastern Australia.

Any day may see you:
  • Facilitate excellent project delivery across the Biodiversity team in your area of speciality.
  • Accountable for the quality of Biodiversity projects with the direction of the Regional Manager.
  • Lead project planning sessions.
  • Lead report preparation.
  • Lead site inspections and/or field teams.
  • Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach to Biodiversity service line delivery.
  • Identify/provide practical solutions to mitigate environmental impacts.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Manage your own projects as well as contribute to the projects of other staff as required.
  • Maintain networks with experts, regulators and complete research where required.
Skills and Experiences:
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Candidates will need a degree in an ecological discipline and a track record in ecological surveying and assessment, preferably gained from within an environmental consultancy. With excellent organisational capabilities, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in flora and/or fauna identification.
  • Knowledge of state and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy.
  • Demonstrated experience with GIS.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
