$975 to $1260 daily rate including super Canberra location however remote working arrangements could be considered

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Employment Lawyer to support a significant Commonwealth Department. The successful candidate will need to have skills and experience advising on Commonwealth employment law.
The Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Commonwealth client’s in-house legal services team. High level stakeholder engagement skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of client areas.
The duties for the role include:
- providing employment law advice;
- advising on the engagement of employees;
- providing advice and representing the Agency in unfair dismissal, general protection, discrimination, workplace bullying and sexual harassment claims, and dispute resolution, employee entitlements, work health and safety and code of conduct in the APS context;
- advising on industrial action, enterprise agreement interpretation, approval and bargaining; and
- advising on the application of the Public Services Act 1999 (Cth) and other Commonwealth government regulations and directions.
A current practising certificate and experience advising on Commonwealth employment law and the Public Service Act 1999 (Cth) is essential.
A current Baseline security clearance would be highly regarded.
