Do you have:
- Experience in asset management; or
- Experience in civil design; or
- Extensive experience in Engineering for Local Government
The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design of Council infrastructure, traffic engineering and asset planning. Project management from scoping through to delivery and reporting is a key component of the work including capital works, major maintenance and operating projects. The Senior Engineer also provides technical advice on development applications, private assets to be gifted to Council and approval for road related permits.
The key areas of this role are:
- Undertake technical design, scoping and budgeting of capital works, major maintenance works and operating projects
- Deliver high level project management from scoping, procurement, contract administration, delivery monitoring and reporting.
- Monitor project finances and provide advice on payments and project claims
- Facilitate the design of infrastructure projects, including but not limited to roads and road infrastructure, drainage, stormwater and wastewater in accordance with relevant legislation and standards including justification of the design approach
- Ensure capital works designs are prepared ahead of the programmed works, including any required liaison with internal and external stakeholders or authorities
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor Civil Engineering OR Diploma Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management including scoping, procurement, delivery and reporting
- Working knowledge of engineering codes, standards, legislation and regulations
- Ability to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines
- High level problem solving skills including engaging internal and external customers
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant engineering software
An attractive remuneration package in the range of $97,278 to $102,864 is on offer based on experience, plus 10.5% superannuation. Graduate Engineers would be considered with salary and training opportunities to be negotiated.
This position is full time and entitled to a rostered day off each month. Flexible working arrangements would be considered, and a relocation allowance may be negotiated.
