About the position:
The City is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide technical expertise and effective coordination of the Engineering Services function within the Project Delivery & Engineering Branch. This function is responsible for providing infrastructure engineering solutions that are practical and viable. The solutions will be based on an understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations with a focus on sustainable solutions and optimised life-cycle cost. They will comply with all relevant legislation, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards.
Key accountabilities:
Effectively lead and manage the Engineering team to ensure the efficient delivery of the team’s products and services.
Develop, implement and monitor annual budgets and operational plans for the team and individuals within the team.
Develop and implement engineering strategies, action plans, programs and projects including but not limited to: road networks, public transport, cycling, walking, travel demand management, car parking, catchment drainage, place making, and park infrastructure including playgrounds.
Assist in the management of the Capital Works Priority List (CWPL) and development of Levels of Service for infrastructure assets.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant must hold a degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for MIEAust membership and working towards CPEng accreditation. They will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in community infrastructure planning, design, engineering and asset management.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term contract.
A remuneration package commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications will be offered.
