About the role
Laing O’Rourke has recently been appointed as Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.
We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join us on this iconic project. We have a strong pipeline with many opportunities for career progression right here in Victoria. Key responsibilities
- Promoting excellence in project environmental performance and implementing the project’s environmental management system.
- Delivery of proactive environmental programmes, sustainability initiatives and improvement initiatives on projects
- Collaborating with supervisors, our client’s team, project management team, employees and other personnel on the project to provide strategic advice on environmental outcomes, to ensure we meet our obligations and improve our environmental performance.
- Coaching, mentoring and promoting excellence in project environmental matters
- You will also review completed environmental records to ensure compliance with specified requirements, implement environmental monitoring programs and design environmental controls.
About you
- You will have an exceptional energy and drive to grow yourself, passion for environmental and sustainability performance and determination to succeed.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications combined with 3-5 years' environmental industry experience, ideally in Australia
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with the project team
- You will be required to keep abreast of environmental legislation, compliance and reporting requirements
