About The Role
We are seeking the services of a highly motivated environmental professional to join our dynamic Environment team. Reporting to the Principal Environmental Approvals – NSW, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering approvals for nominated NSW projects.
As an accomplished environmental professional with a proven record of gaining environmental approvals for new and existing projects, you will be a pivotal role in evaluating environmental impacts and developing of mitigating strategies.
The role will be responsible for
Identifying strategies, detailed schedules, and execution plans for the delivery of environmental approvals projects. This will include the preparation and coordination of environmental monitoring and studies.
Defining approvals processes and schedules, managing baseline and other environmental studies, evaluating environmental impacts, designing mitigating strategies and producing high quality approvals documentation.
Developing close working relationships with Government officials.
Partnering effectively with the broader project and operational teams, including provision of guidance and advice to ensure compliance with legislation and company environmental policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Strong experience working in a similar role.
High standards of behaviour that align with Iluka’s values of Commitment, Integrity & Responsibility.
Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent.
Thorough understanding of principles of environmental impact assessment and environmental management.
Broad understanding of mining and minerals processing and relevant environmental matters relating to these practices.
Strong knowledge of and experience with relevant State & Federal Government environmental and planning legislation and regulatory processes.
Extensive experience in the development and submission of environmental approvals documentation to regulatory agencies.
Ability to negotiate and influence consultants and technical specialists.
Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, PowerPoint).
Current C Class Drivers Licence.
