The City is seeking a Senior Environmental Health Officer to undertake all environmental/public health duties while specialising in events. This is a senior role that embraces a culture of teamwork, innovation, improvement, and respect.
This position will undertake:
The Senior Environmental Health Officer (Events) operates under limited direction and is responsible for supporting the Coordinator Health Approvals in providing leadership and technical expertise from an environmental/public health perspective with the administration of WA Public Health Act 2016, WA Food Act 2008, WA Environment Protection Act 1986, and other relevant legislation, and Council strategies, policies, procedures, and guidelines relating to events.
- Provide proficient professional and technical advice to customers and stakeholders in relation to events and all other aspects of environmental/public health.
- Assess environmental/public health related technical reports, specifications and plans associated with development applications, building applications, event applications, and new businesses to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and local laws as applicable.
- Undertake comprehensive research and analysis of a wide range of issues to prepare and implement project plans and project delivery.
- Represent the Unit or Council on relevant committees and working groups.
