Our purpose is to prevent death, injury and destruction of property caused by electricity.o We work towards our goal by monitoring and enforcing compliance with electrical safety laws, working with industry and the community to improve electrical safety, and providing education and information on electrical safety at work, the home and within the wider community.
We work in the areas of:
o Safe electrical generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricityo Ensuing electrical work is performed safely and competently by licensed electrical workers and electrical contractorso Electrical installations in workplaces, homes and public places to ensure they are safeo Electrical equipment safety throughout its whole lifecycle in workplaces, homes and public places
Your contribution
o If you are a person interested in intergovernmental relations and implementing new processes and systems from the ground up this role is for you.o The role includes working in a small team to develop and implement risk-based and responsive regulatory strategies, policies and procedures for a regime to enable the electrical safety of equipment throughout Australia and New Zealand.o You will be involved in development and implementation of a framework to underpin the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between participating electrical afety regulators. This includes processes for effective governance and operation, project management, organising and completing meetings, submissions, minutes and meeting action items as well as liaising with other jurisdictions to further develop and implement an evolving modern and effective approach to electrical safety of equipment.
