Kempe Engineering is currently seeking to employ Senior Estimator to work in our Geelong branch in Victoria. As part of this role you will be expected to work on client sites undertaking maintenance and sustainable capital
works.
Skills:
- Calculating costs and estimating time scales;
- Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues;
- Analysing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates;
- Preparing estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors;
- Conferring with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates;
- Preparing estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organising, and scheduling work;
- Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project;
- Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops;
- Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures;
- Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction;
- Interpreting building plans, building regulations and codes of practice.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Advanced Diploma/ Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Estimating role
- Preparation of estimates, project quotations and tenders in line with client requirements and specifications
- Calculate quantities, prices and costings for various project costs, plant, equipment, and materials.
- Undertake accurate material take offs from drawings
- Collaborating with our designers, engineers, manufacturers, vendors, and clients to ensure that product specifications are viable for the application
- Obtain competitive quotes from approved suppliers
- Possess an advanced understanding of the development of estimation methodologies, identification of major cost components, performing bid evaluations and risk analysis
- To ensure accurate and timely execution of tenders and quotations in-line with submission deadlines
- Obtaining feedback on all submissions to identify areas of improvement
- Providing strong technical product and vendor support to key stakeholders in the business
- Detailed tender/quotation handover to execution team for seamless transition into pre-contract /delivery
- Compiling, updating and managing CRM Project pipelines
All suitably qualified and experienced candidates will be considered. Kempe Engineering will also consider sponsoring applicants under the TSS 482 or SERS 494 Visa Program. Salary range will be between $85,000 and
$100,000.
