About this role
Are you a service designer, experience designer, or design strategist keen for something new? We’re looking for an Experience Designer to bring human experiences to the forefront of built environment design. Supporting the creative and technical activities of the Arup Studio team, this key role will focus on envisioning and defining experiences for diverse projects from commercial fit-outs to new cities. With access to a global community of experts in their field you will collaborate with and learn from other innovative minds.
What will I do?
- Work collaboratively with a range of disciplines, including architects, engineers, interior designers, and digital designers to deliver user-centred outcomes for built environment projects.
- Plan and conduct qualitative research, facilitate workshops, synthesise research data, generate concepts, and present your findings to stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of projects throughout their life-cycle, from problem definition to strategy, and from design into operation.
- Advocate for Experience Design methods, and share your skills with others.
- Be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets.
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Design or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience in a design-related context, with preference given to those with service design experience.
- Strong interest in shaping the built environment
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary projects
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments
