The Senior Finance Officer works closely with the Manager, the Senior Finance Officer and is responsible for leading and managing the funded establishment reporting, undertaking payroll and financial management reporting and salary forecasting. The Senior Finance Officer is the first point of contact for the regional teams providing advice and assistance on financial and budget management activities.

As the Senior Finance Officer - Budget, you will specifically:

• Deliver a range of budget and financial services and support for the department and ensure identified outcomes and timelines are met.

• Administration and maintenance of SAP hierarchy including cost centres, internal orders and reporting groups.

• Provide high quality and well researched advice, interpretation and feedback to stakeholders on a broad range of financial and budget related issues with a strong focus on customer service.

• Ensure compliance with legislation, directives and departmental policies, the collection of information and data and the preparation and presentation of reports.

• Preparation of accruals and other journals including payroll reporting review and corrections as required

• Provide advice to departmental officers in relation to budget and FTE management.

• Manage the monthly financial reporting on cost centres, FTEs and budget variance analysis meet departmental requirements.

• Establish and manage strong working relationships and networks both internal and external to the department.

• Review and implementation of policies, functions and processes that contribute to improvements in the department's financial operations and budget management systems and practices.
