This role is responsible for the establishment and implementation of the client's Health Safety and Environment Management System within the Distribution Centre during the build and opening of the site. This role will also support the national Distribution Centre network safety program.
The role will work closely with the site managers and management teams to drive a positive safety culture based on engagement to create a safe environment for all with a drive for continuous improvement.
Some other key aspects of the role -
- Coordinate and champion HSE-related activities and initiatives within a warehousing distribution environment.
- Support, coach and influence key stakeholders and team members to drive performance improvements in safety, environment and wellbeing
- Review training needs, and deliver training sessions as required
- Management of WorkCover claims and RTW processes to ensure effective management
- Implement and maintain a contractor & visitor management system
- A minimum qualification of Certificate 4 in Safety, and 2+ Years of related experience, including previous experience in a Distribution Centre (+150 staff) workplace in a safety role
- Demonstrated safety experience in a related industry sector (distribution centre, warehousing, industrial/factory)
- Demonstrated experience within a greenfields site will be looked upon favourably
- You love collaborating with all staff at all levels, influencing, coaching and educating, and building and maintaining relationships to build a robust safety culture.
- Experience in the establishment of a safety management system
- Experience in Incident Management and Investigation (ICAM or similar)
- You love to develop and roll out training to staff.
- You have knowledge of the WorkCover/Injury Management processes.
