The role
As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing health and safety support to the operational divisions for the Department of Health. Elevate your career through supporting implementation of a safety management system across a diverse portfolio including warehousing, transport, laboratories, linen services, and corporate offices across Queensland.
Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating thorough risk assessments, providing advice on health and safety legislative requirements, and building capability of leaders on health and safety matters. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in leading incident investigations and facilitating implementation of effective corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
The successful person
You will be a dedicated professional with a passion for promoting health and safety within the workplace. You will possess strong technical knowledge and skills in the area of health and safety legislation, standards, Codes of Practice and guidelines, coupled with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Furthermore, you will have the ability work autonomously, prioritise workload and collaborate in a positive team environment to achieve team goals.
