The importance of this role

As a Senior Home Care Worker, you will be looking to develop your career whilst supporting a team of Home Care Workers. No day will be like the other and you can look forward to a rewarding and varied role.

Based at our Moorooka Office, you will be responsible for onboarding our CHSP Clients while providing support to the team when needed. Working alongside clients with differing support needs, you will provide them with the assistance they require to live independently in their own homes. This opportunity will suit someone wanting a varied and challenging role supported by dedicated and caring Service Leaders. You will need to be willing to split your time between Administration tasks and face to face client interactions.

The types of support you will provide include but are not limited to:

Onboarding new Commonwealth Home Support Clients;
Mentoring and training of Home Care Workers;
Providing personal care assistance to clients for example showering, dressing and toileting;
Assisting clients with medications;
Providing general domestic assistance;
Providing social support to clients including transport, assisting with social outings, shopping etc;
Participating in the review of client care plans, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate and reporting observed changes to client health to the Service Coordinator/Registered Nurse.

This role will require you to be available from 6am, Monday to Friday to cover staff leave when needed.

Remuneration for this role is $28.23 - $28.77 per hour commensurate with experience.

What you can bring to the team

You like to make a difference in the lives of seniors as you are a caring, empathetic person. It is important that you are a confident relationship builder, as you will be a trusted person in our office and clients' homes.

To be suited to this position, you will have:
Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community) or Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) or equivalent;
Completion of the following units of competency: HLTHPS006 – Assist clients with medication and CHCCCS011 - Meet personal support needs;
Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates;
Minimum two years’ experience in a direct care role;
Experience training and mentoring staff;
A current driver's licence and a willingness to use your own comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes (km's paid);
National Police Certificate or the ability to acquire.
