What does the role entail
  • Consult with business leaders and management teams on general and complex HR/IR issues
  • Act as a trusted business partner by responding and delivering sound and accurate advice and policy and legislative interpretation.
  • Utilise metric information to inform any critical areas of performance, focusing on all aspects of leave management, non-work related case management, mandatory training and work health and safety concerns.
  • Critically evaluate and plan interventions with business leaders to focus on areas of opportunity based on specific business deficiencies in performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other HR teams in SWSLHD, maintain strong connections to the Local Health District (LHD), the People and Culture team including district HR, recruitment, industrial relations, injury management and workforce planning.
  • Model the Core Values of NSW Health and provide understanding of, and commitment to, the delivery of the HR team's objectives, development opportunities and effective working relationships.
  • Actively participate in assigned working groups, project teams, and relevant hospital committee meetings.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions around change and transformation and identify in advance where and when change management will be required and at that time proactively participate in the restructure or redevelopment planning and delivery of services or units.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion and sensitivity when managing data, personal and business information and ensure the privacy of all employees, managers, departments and patients.
  • Be a ‘forward-facing’ people resource, consultant and coach, committed to supporting the management of designated portfolios, becoming an employee champion, a management mentor and an agent for organisational change and development out in the business.

What you'll be doing

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner works with key designated portfolios to ensure alignment between business operations, HR practices and objectives. The Senior HRBP understands, supports and drives strategic and operational people management priorities by incorporating sound HR experience, data driven solutions and strong organisational agility to guide decision making and key objectives to business groups and staff. In addition to this, the HR Business Partner will be supporting executive and senior management to provide coaching, training and support in all facets of people management and strategic planning to enhance operations and develop capabilities in the team

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Organisational Psychology, Operational Management or evidence of significant work experience as a HR Business Partner in a large organisation.

Ability to work independently with limited direction, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage competing priorities and pre-determined deadlines

Detailed knowledge on industry trends and best practices, legislation and awards, workplace policies and procedures, and specific recruitment strategies and trends.

Maintain an active role in the social, cultural, annual and educational projects that reflect the value drivers of the hospital including employee confidence, and delivery of public health objectives and local community expectations

Proven and successful collaboration with department managers and divisional leads to develop plans to identify training and development needs, coaching an support, and sound problem solving experience leading to lasting business solutions within a business group or organisation.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated high EQ, intellectual curiosity, and an ability to form strong and relatable relationships, effective problem solving, negotiating and instructing, and a practiced ability to provide reports and advice to diverse audiences that are clear, convincing and unambiguous.

Demonstrated digital acumen and analytical skills, using an array of existing data bases and Microsoft suite of applications to draw actionable insights from raw information and data including identifying areas of improvement, producing detailed dashboards and reports, and actionable solutions to increase business performance and regulatory compliance.

Ability to rapidly learn the ‘business speak’ and networking structures in a comparatively short time frame to ensure business credibility, understanding assigned business portfolios and enhancement of personal brand, and gain knowledge of the decision makers and practical alliances to effect change, proposals or business planning.
