About the role
Affirm Software have a great opportunity for a Senior Java Developer who is a self-starter with strong communication skills to join their IT team. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end software development cycle and deliveries whilst having the added bonus of working on advanced IT software and technology stack.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to apply their expertise in software development as well as learn new skills and coach the junior team while working closely with the Technical Lead/Product Solutions Architect to develop their own leadership skills. As such, your desire to understand tasks both technically and as an end user will be critical to your success.
What will you do?
Software Design & Development using Java Java 8 or higher and related J2EE technology, Spring/ Hibernate framework;
Front end development, HTML/CSS/JavaScript and related JS frameworks (jQuery etc);
Maintain and improve Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture of our product;
Technical production support and assisting implementation team with technical queries;
Ensure the system is secure and available at all times;
Team mentoring and management.
About you
Degree Qualified in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar;
Experience in Java 8 or higher, J2EE (JSP/JSTL etc), frameworks like Spring/Hibernat;
Experience in JavaScript and related JS frameworks (jquery etc);
Experience in Oracle database and SQL;
Experience and understanding of AWS cloud services (EC2, IAM, RDS, S3, SQS -knowledge of additional services are added advantage);
AWS Developer Associate certificate desirable but not essential.
