SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be part of Bentley’s Infrastructure IoT Software Development group, implementing new features and solutions for IoT in monitoring critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop software systems for a fast-growing, disruptive Big Data & IoT company
• Take ownership of key products and features—from software design to project planning and deployment
• Strong proficiency with Java.
• Capable of writing unit/integration tests using tools such as JUnit and Mockito
• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks, such as Guice/Spring
• Experience with git, maven, Jenkins.

Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, software engineering or relevant experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer or equivalent
• Required Programming Experience: Java 8
• Required Operating System: Linux
• Required Cloud Provider: AWS or Azure
• Preferred Application Server: Tomcat 8
• Preferred Database: Mongo, Elasticsearch, Redis
• Preferred other Tools: Kafka, HAProxy, Zookeeper, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins
• Self-motivated person with the ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Has experience in agile development
• Is willing to learn wide range of technologies
• Has ability to learn and adapt quickly to maximize productivity
• Can work under minimum supervision
• Knowledge of Agile, TDD, CI, CD and DevOps processes
• Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
• This role does not require travel
