Our client
Our client is a boutique family law firm with beautiful offices in Newcastle. They have an employee-centered culture, where the team are trusted to do their job in the way that works for best for them and their clients. The team are focused on supporting each other, sharing ideas, and helping each other to deliver the best outcomes to their clients. People like working here and it is reflected in their low (or near non-existent) staff turnover.
With lots of success, and ongoing demand, this firm have plans to continue to grow their position as expert family law specialists and are looking for a Senior Lawyer to support them on this journey.
The role
You will inherit an existing private-paying practice of complex property and parenting matters, with reasonable billing expectations of 5 hours per day, and with excellent administration support provided.
Key Responsibilities include:
Managing a varied caseload of complex family law matters, including high net worth financial settlements and disputes involving children.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders, including barristers and other professionals in the legal community.
As a senior member of the team there is also an opportunity to expand your responsibilities to;
Assist junior solicitors and support staff in the team with their caseloads and providing guidance and mentorship where necessary, and
Contribute to the growth and development of the family law team through business development activities, including attending networking events and undertaking marketing initiatives.
About you
The ideal candidate will be an experienced family law specialist looking for a senior role in a progressive firm.
Admission as a solicitor in New South Wales, ideally with 5+ years' post-admission experience in family law.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up to date with developments in family law.
