A well-connected successful business in the transportation industry is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their close-knit legal team in Fiji.
The Opportunity

Our client has a unique opportunity for a lawyer 7 years+ PQE to undertake a broad general commercial role as a 2IC to the General Counsel. This role will also afford you the responsibility of mentoring junior lawyers in the team. The company will take care of your visa and benefits will include a company car and a contribution towards your accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with and provide support to the General Counsel and Company Secretary
Advise the
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts pertaining to the transportation industry including service and supply agreement, terms and conditions, NDAs as well as IR and HR matters.
Liaise with the business and various senior stakeholders on a day-to-day basis and build strong relationships with external legal counsel
Keep abreast of changes in the legal and regulatory landscape and educate the business on such developments and ensure compliance is adhered to
Implement best practice policies and streamline processes
Ideal Candidate
Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in a Commonwealth jurisdiction
Minimum 7 years PQE with solid general commercial experience, ideally from time spent working inhouse or on secondment
Prior experience in the transportation industry will be looked upon favourably
Sound technical knowledge with a can-do attitude and a willingness to contribute to the success of the team, particularly in terms of assisting more junior lawyers in their roles.
Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills and the ability to build rapport with people at all levels in the business.
Self-starter, capable of taking initiative and comfortable working autonomously.
