About the role
This position reports directly to the General Counsel and Company Secretary at Tritium DCFC Limited and is based at Murarrie, Brisbane (hybrid work policy applies).

The Legal team’s approach fosters timely, accurate, commercially-focused advice whilst maintaining the necessary autonomy and governance. The global Legal team currently comprises 4 lawyers and a patent attorney.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice/counsel in business-related areas of expertise (e.g., corporate law, real estate, tax, business litigation, transactions/anti-trust, compliance, intellectual property, employment/labor, corporate governance, ethics, etc.).
The Senior Legal Counsel’s top priority is ensuring the maximization of business opportunities and minimization of potential risks to the Company, its shareholders and employees.
Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Providing timely, effective, practical legal review, advice and drafting of commercial agreements and consulting documents with a particular focus on international B2B sales contract negotiations, strategic procurement, risk management, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and IP commercialisation;
Analyse and negotiate commercial contracts and provide strategic, innovative and sound legal solutions having regard to legal risk;
Researching, analyzing and interpreting proposed and existing laws, statutes and regulations;
Engaging with customers and suppliers, building rapport with counterparts in negotiations and assisting with disputes when necessary;
Reviewing, finalising and advising upon miscellaneous contract documents including services contracts, leases, licences, insurances, alliance contracts, confidentiality agreements, probity and process deeds, and disclosure agreements;
Reviewing procurement arrangements;
Contributing to international deals including structuring advice in relation to collaborative development and deployment projects;
Assisting with corporate governance matters; and
Other duties as required by the General Counsel and Company Secretary.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Laws, a Post-Graduate Legal Qualification, admitted as a Legal Practitioner with a current Practising Certificate.
8+ years’ experience providing legal support for commercial and IP/technology-related transactions, in either a high quality public company in-house role or commercial law firm environment.
Extensive legal experience in the areas of contract, IP and general commercial law. International and/or in-house experience in the technology sector highly desired.
Ability to critically analyse, draft and negotiate complex, cross border and large scale commercial transactions in an innovation/technology related environment.
Strong and effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex legal issues and business concerns in clear and concise communications to advise all levels of management and employees.
A willingness to be involved in a variety of matters and an enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Team player with strong customer-service focus, high ethics and integrity, responsive attitude.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Highly motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
