Form of work How will I help?
You will be responsible for playing a key role in the BCM Digital Brand and Marketing team, ensuring that the customer facing content we develop to promote and services across Westpac Group are aligned to our target risk culture, are within risk appetite and in line with strategy. This is a line one compliance role.
As the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for directly supporting compliance reviews of customer facing content, including advertising for Digital, Brand and Marketing. This role is also responsible for partnering with Chief Brand & Marketing Officer and GM-1 Leadership team, Second Line Risk teams (Operational Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime & Assurance) as well as Group Audit on all matters relevant to risk and compliance and oversee the agenda to strategically implement risk and compliance solutions. It is an expectation of this role to drive a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
A contribution to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations and appetite of the Group and Division.
Driving and producing quality risk and compliance advice on marketing and digital collateral and campaigns, risk management and project governance and risk deliverables.
Driving consistency and alignment across the Brand strategy to ensure customer facing content and campaigns produced is within risk appetite and meets compliance requirements.
Ensuring key considerations relating to risk appetite and compliance requirements are considered throughout the marketing and digital collateral management workflow (BASE), including guiding and supporting the application of the ‘Should We Test?’
Providing insights and prepare inputs into key governance papers, including risk committees, steering committees, CBMO and CDO LT meetings and Forums.
Ensuring timely communication and escalation of issues, incidents and control gaps and deficiencies identified through the marketing collateral and campaign reviews, including proactive guidance and consideration of solutions
Driving strong relationships across business partners, 1st Line counterparts, 2nd Line partners and Group Audit. Working closely with key senior stakeholders to identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices.
Providing guidance and support to BCM managers ensuring all work is completed to a quality standard and technical uplift.
Continuously seek opportunities for uplift and continuous improvement to ensure team collective strives for best practice and optimal operating rhythm.
Coaching and supporting the business to build greater risk awareness and capability. Tailoring outputs to drive better business stakeholder understanding to improve risk awareness and maturity.
Promoting a strong risk culture, awareness and ownership of risks and controls within the CBMO and CDO business.

What do I need?
5+ years of compliance, risk or legal experience
A strong understanding of key legislation and requirements relevant to advertising and developing customer facing content for the distribution of products and services for Westpac Group
A background in Financial Services and preferred exposure to retail banking.
Tertiary qualifications Relevant industry qualifications (compliance or law)
Someone with strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to mentor and coach business stakeholders on risk capability.
An individual who possesses the ability to think strategically and achieve objectives in a changing environment.
