The Team
The MinterEllison ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Consulting practice work with our legal teams to future-proof organisations against ESG risks. Our purpose is to become Australia’s most trusted ESG Consulting practice, known for offering diverse perspectives and delivering impactful and pragmatic solutions for its clients.

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Consultant to play a pivotal role in growing our ESG consulting practice. The ideal candidate will possess
strong experience in consulting, stakeholder engagement coupled with experience or a strong awareness of the complexities of ESG matters to assist our clients on critical engagements. Knowledge/experience in Carbon offsetting is preferred. This role is open to our Sydney or Melbourne office with hybrid working arrangements available. In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Advise on the development and implementation of ESG strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive ESG risk assessments, ideally with experience in assessing carbon markets/offsets related risk.
- Monitor and report on global carbon market trends, benchmarks, and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop ESG-related projects and strategies.
- Facilitate ESG-related training and awareness programs.
- Develop and implement ESG frameworks, in line with global standards.
- Support the communication of ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders.
More About You
- Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Business, or related field. A Master’s degree will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience in ESG consulting, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, or similar roles.
- Deep understanding of ESG issues and trends, regulatory requirements, and reporting standards. Carbon markets experience preferred
- Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
