About the opportunity
This role plays a key part in the future of Australia Post, you will be working in our freight services team to develop insights and perform analytics that will help inform our product strategy, design, and portfolio management. By creating insights that help us service our customers more efficiently you will be a key part of delighting our customers and building a sustainable business.
What you’ll deliver with us
You will manage a team of 4 analysts, empowering them with tools and techniques to use data to create insights across our largest portfolio of parcels and mail. Last year we processed 2.7 billion items and regularly visit over 12.6 million delivery points across the country. Leading this newly formed team of top talent, you will be able to ‘get on the tools’ and help shape the product insights team. You will be able to bring and create key principles and standards for your team, you will bring your experience and technical skills to get the team humming and to make a real difference within our freight service offering.
You’ll also
- Be responsible for modernising our data experiences to support our freight vision and create market leading insights and market intelligence.
- Own the design, build and management of Product Data Hub (governed, single source of truth) in line with our product principles.
- Lead the team providing direction and guidance to enable robust analytics, insights to shape product design, management and support commercial decisions.
- Responsible for the forecasts (market & our freight products) - lead the modelling and coordination with product, network operations, data science and finance teams, and ensure successful aligned execution.
- Develop best practice metrics and logics for product management and scorecards.
- Leverage the broader product team and other stakeholders outside of products and drive strong cross business collaboration and ensure delivery of key NPS, Revenue and Cost drivers.
About you
You’ll be a strong leader who will give the team the trust, confidence and autonomy to succeed in answering analytical questions from the product teams, as well as driving for an understanding of whether we’re asking the right questions.
You will be technically competent in SQL, extracting and analysing data from a cloud platform such as GCP or AWS and you will have experience using Python.
You’ll
- Have experience managing a data and analytics team
- Know Python and SQL and be able to deploy them in a cloud based data environment.
- Have excellent communication skills and an ability to question prevailing viewpoints and get to the root of why a question is being asked, and what we’re trying to solve by answering a particular question with insights.
- Has demonstrated extensive knowledge of key market drivers, industry players and latest developments within the Data Analytics, Data Science and Engineering discipline.
- Understanding the governance, and compliance requirements associated with information management.
