Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions. We work with several government agencies to coordinate metro, train, bus, ferry, light rail, and maritime services, always keeping the safety and comfort of our customers at the heart of what we do.
The Division
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW, and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. These senior positions sit within our Planning and Programs branch. Within the branch we have the South Regional Planning team, who are tasked with delivering on the long term strategy for the regions through development of evidence based integrated network planning, considering the interaction between place and transport.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Manager Transport Planning to join our South Regional Planning team where you will play a leading role in the effective and efficient delivery of a range of transport planning projects, and the proactive management of strong stakeholder relationships.
You will be managing a geographically dispersed team who’s home base is situated in our Wagga Wagga office, where there is an expectation to meet with your new team and the broader project team on a weekly basis.
You will foster collaboration across the community, industry and all levels of government to achieve NSW government objectives. Working across multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams delivering place based planning within a specific geographic area is just part of the scope of this role.
You’ll also:
Lead the development of integrated network plans to guide and inform network improvement priorities across Regional and Outer Metropolitan NSW
Foster an evidence based planning culture to guide investment in operational and infrastructure solutions across the transport system
Provide leadership, advice and direction and project management to the development and delivery of programs and strategic concept proposals and guidance
Manage a program of transport planning projects and manage the allocation of projects to team members, ensuring each project has the right resources
About you
Drawing on your strategic leadership skills, you will have significant experience in transport planning and have a proven track record in the planning and development of place-based multi-modal plans. You’re an exceptional communicator, able to build strong working relationships that allow you to drive delivery improvements as we continue to enhance the way we operate.
You have experience building collaborative and high performing teams whilst leading through change to deliver complex projects and initiatives that balance our customer’s needs and business objectives. You will be well versed in the design of transport plans and generating in depth analysis to make significant improvements to our network and are motivated by the positive impact you’ll have on regional NSW and communities as a whole!
