If you want to make an impact on a global scale, come make a difference at Fiserv.Job Title Senior Oracle Database AdministratorWhat does a Successful Senior Database Administrator do at Fiserv?The Senior DBA (Oracle) will be a member of the Fiserv operations team and will be responsible for providing production support, monitoring, troubleshooting, review database queries and stored procedures, scripting maintaining and tuning Database performance to key banking applications that are managed by Fiserv. They will also be required to have a knowledge of Unix administration (mainly AIX and Linux) and will be expected to assist with ongoing initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire to learn new technology and concepts and proactively seek opportunities to add value, improve efficiency and increase productivity. The candidate will work in a very challenging environment where and will be empowered to provide quality support. This is a very challenging environment and expectation is to be able to support highly critical applications 24x7 and manage to strict service levels.What you will do:
- Monitor and optimise the performance of application databases to meet performance and service level agreements.
- Participate in allocated DBA tasks, e.g. Oracle quarterly PSUs, Oracle upgrades, installations, backup and recovery, tuning, performance monitoring, day-to-day support, SQL Server patching.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Production incidents and participate in bridge calls in coordination with application support team in meeting the SLAs.
- Provide advice and guidance on database technology for new business systems.
- Manage ongoing initiatives, including server and system upgrades and maintain currency.
- Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve production issues when required.
- Participate in disaster recovery (BCP) exercises and on-call roster
- 10 years experience on Oracle Database administration and 5 years working with Oracle RAC
- Strong expertise in Oracle 12c to 19c database administration mandatory, 11g optional
- Expertise in the installation and support of Oracle RAC in an enterprise environment
- Good expertise in Unix (AIX and Linux)
- Good knowledge in the installation and use of Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c and higher
- Working knowledge of Oracle RMAN, dataguard, autoupgrade, ASM, datapump
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following RDBMS: SQL Server, MySQL and DB2
- Experience with 2 or more of the following technologies: Windows servers, DDBoost Backups, Networking, Firewalls, Monitoring, Foglight, Splunk
- Understand and work on the concepts of server virtualization
- Performance monitoring, tuning, space and size management
- Replication, partitioning, disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
- Database migrations from Oracle 11g to 19c
- Broad experience in clustering high availability, fault tolerant systems, SAN
- Database Server Security, User Creation and Right Permission, Database and storage Encryption technologies (Data in motion and at rest)
- Understand the deployment process and provide recommendation on improving the process
- Scripting, PL/SQL, shell, python
- Experience with ServiceNow
