The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior OT Project Engineer to join our Transformation & Technology team in Brisbane or Melbourne office on a Permanent Full Time basis.

Reporting to the OT Engineering Team Lead - SCADA and OT Cyber, you will play a key role in ensuring operational technology developments are managed effectively through providing leadership and technical expertise. You will be actively contributing to project delivery strategies to ensure APA has the OT skills and strengths to sustain this growing area of the business.

The location for this role is flexible and hybrid; we will consider locations all over Australia and/or home office. We will also consider job share arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and managing the delivery of OT programs of work to achieve business outcomes
  • Providing technical design, technical leadership and consultancy services within OT Engineering field
  • Being accountable for day-to-day operations of resourcing, scheduling, prioritization and task coordination on projects
  • Being accountable for meeting project milestones, objectives and deliverables within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Providing expert guidance to OT project teams including mentoring
  • Performing process improvement activities, contributing to standards and the production of automation tools to improve efficiency
  • Liaising with internal suppliers and customers to manage expectations and ensure that agreed outcomes are achieved
Your background
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical & Electronics, Control System Engineering, Process or Chemical Engineering
  • Excellent knowledge including Project Management experience of at least one of the following technologies: ClearSCADA, OSIsoft Pi, Synergi Pipeline Simulator, AlarmPT, Microgrids, Future Fuel and OT Cyber Security
  • Extensive experience in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of technology for gas transmission, gas processing, LNG, chemical processing, power generation, renewables, utilities or associated industries
  • Project Management Qualifications/ Certification and significant delivery experience will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, Australian and international codes and standards
  • A working knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety legislative requirements.
  • Client focused approach with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience in leading project teams in delivering operational technology projects
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technology change to existing systems
  • Demonstrated experience using project management tools, lifecycles and methodologies
