Due to the continued success of our Asia Pacific operations and the strong pipeline of work forecast in VIC, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Overhead Wiring Engineer to join our Rail team in Melbourne.
Provide high quality engineering design and consultancy services to the rail industry in Victoria. This position requires the candidate to prepare overhead wiring designs from feasibility, through concept and ultimately to full detail design.
The candidate will be required to undertake layout design, sectioning, allocation design and provide technical support to construction teams.
- Maintain, develop and retain the highest standard of OHW discipline technical skill
- Review or verify and interpret engineering drawings and reports and provide technical input into a diverse range of projects and ensure that work produced complies with quality system and client requirements
- Seek information to understand client needs and effectively anticipate and meet client needs and encourage client focus in colleagues
- Define and implement action plans to respond to client feedback and exceed client expectations whilst taking responsibility for client satisfaction and loyalty
- Assist with OHW design teams on complex design projects
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in OHW design and engineering
- Assist with the delivery and commercial outcome of OHW design schemes
- Proven years' experience working in the Rail sector
- Typically, 5 to 10+ years' experience in a similar role
- Bachelors Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent
- Chartered status CPENG (or working towards)
- Experience producing OHW design work and delivery in Australia (preferable) and/or overseas
- Demonstrated competence in providing technical expertise across a broad range of projects
- High level skills in applying safety in design practices and processes.
- Demonstrated multiple instances of delivering best client outcomes/options which have saved the client costs/time
