What you'll be doing
Therapy for Kids & Families (TKF) is a specialist Children’s mental health service with teams located at 3 sites across WSLHD including Auburn, Westmead and Mt Druitt. The aim is to provide a comprehensive and specialist Community-based Mental Health service to children aged up to 12 years and their families. This includes assessment and management of children with complex emotional and behavioural problems within the context of their families.
The Senior Paediatric Mental Health Clinician is part of a multi-disciplinary team, which offers a broad range of interventions to children and families. This will involve direct therapeutic and psychiatric interventions with the child and family, coordinating and consulting to internal and external key stakeholders including Department of Education and Department of Community and Justice, and developing comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with families.

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. Relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.
Registration: Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology. Full registration with APHRA as a Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker- eligibility to be member of the AASW
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in working therapeutically with children and families who present with significant emotional, behavioural, and/or mental health difficulties.
Demonstrated evidence-based skills in the assessment and treatment of children and their families presenting with complex mental health issues in a developmental framework.
Demonstrated skills and experience in working with families who are at risk due to issues such as substance abuse, mental illness, child protection and domestic violence.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families.
Current NSW driver license and willing to use for work purposes
