About the Role

This Senior Partner role supports our fabulous Head of Assurance in developing the Operational Risk Assurance framework whilst leading reviews to provide assurance to stakeholders on the management of Operational Risk in our Retail and Business Bank divisions.
Having a primary accountability to determine, through targeted assurance activities, the operational risk frameworks and 1st line activities for Retail and Business Bank teams, this role ensures they are effective and fit-for-purpose for the organisation, and that our 2nd line friends are executing the assurance responsibilities under the framework. This role will see you heavily involved with:
Risk Frameworks & Assurance Planning
Operational Risk Assurance.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of assurance specific frameworks
Annual assurance plans (operational risk)
Control self-assessment methodology and assurance maps.
Create training and communication documentation regarding operational risk assurance,
Provide accurate end to end delivery of operational risk assurance reviews
The aim – to partner with our stakeholders and teams, ensuring we are clear around the important purpose, objectives and benefits assurance is providing at within our high- functioning Retail and Business Bank divisions.
About you
As an experienced Senior Partner, you’ll join us with exposure to assurance within the banking and financial services landscape. Yip – you live and breathe all things risk and assurance and join us with a passion, and experience of, elevating the maturity of a risk culture within a business. You come armed with a wealth of assurance knowledge, and know how to implement frameworks, partnering with line 1 risk teams for successful uptake.
We operate in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment so we are seeking a strategic thinker who can problem-solve on the fly. Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you, where you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, participating and promoting cooperative working relationships across the organisation.
As an outcome-driven professional you enjoy proactively communicating with the business to understand and reach their vision – and know how to align it with your teams. With your vast experience in assurance, you’re the go-to for all things involved with regulator priorities, prudential standards and legislation relating to the banking world.
You’re a natural born people-person with a strong background in leading operational risk teams, along with the application, of operational risk and assurance frameworks and/or audit frameworks within the financial services industry. Other skills and experience we are ideally seeking include:
Strong knowledge of operational risk & control concepts
Current knowledge of regulatory requirements, banking trends and practices
Understanding of attributes that contribute and nurture a strong risk culture
Understanding of continuous monitoring assurance and data analytics techniques
Experience embedding and uplifting operational risk management maturity
