The Senior People and Culture Partner ensures effective partnerships with Deakin’s leaders and teams to facilitate contemporary people solutions.
The Partner is responsive and customer-centric in their approach to people solutions, accountable for the delivery of dynamic workforce plans, talent management, organisational change and sustainable people solutions. The position manages delivery of effective services across a range of areas including organisational development, culture, performance, remuneration, workplace relations, wellbeing and recruitment, in collaboration with other teams within People and Culture and People Services.
As a Senior People and Culture Partner, you will:
- Act as trusted advisor and partner with executives and senior leaders, building leadership capability through coaching, providing expert and responsive advice on high impact issues, and embedding people frameworks and tools within business cycles
- Champion Deakin’s People Strategy, across the focus areas of Inspiring Leaders, Capable People, Engaged Teams and Sustainable Design
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with people functions and other enabling teams to co-deliver for the business, identifying and contributing to improvements in service offerings and being an ambassador for the University Services Portfolio
- Partner effectively with other people functions on collaborative ways of working, process improvements, and enhancing connection
- Provide visible leadership across the people functions, contributing to divisional projects, enhancements and presentations, formal and informal teaching and mentoring of broader team members and driving the continuing maturity of the operating model
- Play a key role in facilitating change processes across local and larger scale change and change implementation to ensure strong outcomes are delivered for the University through its people, using contemporary change management and organisational design methodologies
- Ensure solutions are compliant with legislation, the University’s Enterprise Agreement and University policies and procedures and that advice to customers and influence of customer decisions ultimately serves the greatest need and interest of the University
- Motivate and influence leaders across Deakin to create an environment where staff feel valued, included and want to do their best to achieve University priorities
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Proven expertise in developing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience
- Experience providing high level and complex HR advice and services to senior leaders through the establishment of meaningful relationships
- Experience facilitating customers through robust HR practices to enable strategic thinking and solutions for the future
- Knowledge of contemporary HR Partnering practice
