Senior Pharmacist - Statewide Addiction and Mental Health Centre
Full time, fixed term - initial 2-year contract

About the role
The Victorian Government has recently appointed Turning Point, Eastern Health Australia’s leading addiction treatment, research and education centre, to be the Statewide lead and eastern region clinical network provider for the new state-wide specialist service to support Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Services as well as community alcohol and other drug (AOD) services to provide integrated care for people living with co-occurring mental illness and substance use or addiction. This new service will lead innovative, high impact, interdisciplinary, addiction and mental health research and education and support the delivery of expert primary and secondary consultation for people with the most complex needs, across Victoria’s transformed Mental Health and Wellbeing System.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacist to join the Leadership Group and make a major contribution to the establishment of services and programs linked to the newly created state-wide service for people living with mental illness and substance use or addiction.
This is a key pharmacist role at Australia's leading addiction treatment, research and education centre.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Extensive experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy service to patients with mental illness and addiction. Knowledge and experience in the domains of alcohol and drug treatment and/or experience in tertiary or primary mental health settings.
Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy. In particular, demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Guidelines.
Demonstrate commitment to optimum patient focused care and professional practice
Developed staff supervision including undergraduate education
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities and a high level of organisational skills
Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and decision making skills
Demonstrated ability to manage change and quality improvement activities
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to build relationships and work in partnerships
Author of published peer reviewed publications
