This company is a long established developer and EPC contractor within the utility solar, battery storage and micro grid project space. They are a loarge global company and are entering a growth phase in the Australian market. They have a strong financial backing with an impressive pipeline of work.
About the role
Lead a team of Project Managers and support the Hybrid business team from contract development stage through to the EPC Signed contract and delivery of the project. You will be across all projects to ensure budget, timelines, cost, quality etc are on schedule and to the company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the EPC Project Management team in Australia, including team morale and development, overall projects forecast, project budgets, risk and resources
- Accountable for the successful outcome of Solar and Hybrid EPC(M) projects from financial close through commissioning, energisation and handover.
- Formal project management of EPC(M), Supplier and Sub-Contracts including engineering, commercial and stakeholders’ aspects
- Manage a project team (matrix structure) and work with Business Development, Procurement, Construction Management, Engineering, Consultants, Customers and local authorities to ensure financial close and compliant project execution
- Manage and report on progress – scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, HSE, contracts etc.
- Implement, improve and maintain project management guidelines, processes, tools and procedures to ensure a structured project execution approach so to minimize project risk and maximise performance
- Achieving contractual milestones and management of liquidity, schedule, costs as per EPC(M) contracts and project baselines
- Ensure full compliance with QHSE regulations, standards, codes and requirements in Australia
- Securing of environmental, grid connection and construction permits
- Lead supply/sub-contract negotiation, contract preparation, execution and management
- An engineering degree or equivalent
- At least 5 years of successful project management track record in the Australian power, energy or construction industry
- Renewable energy experience, in particular solar PV would be highly advantageous
- Proven track record of managing complex proprietary or standard form contracts
- Strong negotiation, excellent communication skills and successful at relationship building across a broad range of levels
- Proven track record of managing and motivating project teams in a matrix organizational structure
- Team player with exceptional communication skills, a self-starter with strong problem solving and creativity aspects and a passion for renewable energy
