The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Policy Advisor will work within a policy team under the guidance of a Senior Public Health Adviser and the Director, Statewide Leadership to support the development of policy and strategy, guidelines and processes for the statewide public health network, including Local Public Health Units (LPHUs). This role will work collaboratively with senior partners and stakeholders to play a pivotal role in delivering the vision for Victoria's public health system reform, including a focus on trust and confidence, social determinants of health, intergenerational wellbeing and the principles of value-based health care. The Senior Policy Advisor will provide leadership, strategic policy direction and policy expertise within the public health system reform.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a capacity to work at a fast pace, and balance multiple priorities in an often challenging and ambiguous environment. Attention to detail, timeliness, ability to gather data and information for reporting, along with teamwork underpin success in this role as well as an ability to communicate confidently and effectively.
Working in a dynamic public health environment, the successful candidate will bring a collaborative, creative and evidence-based rigorous approach to policy development.
