The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Senior Policy Officer (Legislation and Policy) is a key member of the SCE team, responsible for providing advice on family violence related legislative and policy reform and operational changes. The role requires strong conceptual and analytical abilities to identify the implications and operational impacts . The Senior Policy Officer plays a critical role in connecting new and proposed legislative and policy changes to implications for the Court's operations.
About you
You are an experienced policy professional, with legal qualifications, who is exceptional at stakeholder engagement. Experience with family violence or intersecting policies and legislative work, previous work in courts or justice highly regarded.
