Working in a small team, you will be responsible for the management of the engineering service providers, as well as the tender of independent power providers to successfully supervise and manage the delivery of this new project. From the initial project delivery, this team will look to roll out similar projects across their assets globally. The first project roll out is expected to last 8 months before moving on to a new project on a different Australian/Global site.
This is a Monday- Friday Perth or Brisbane CBD-based role, frequently traveling to the QLD site. 12-month ongoing contract with long-term continuation for the right candidate. Adhoc site travel will be required, initially monthly, becoming more frequent through the construction phases.
Accountabilities:
- Project Management - ensuring effective transition between project phases, the definition of scope, ensuring compliance and governance with business frameworks, project documentation, managing budgets, schedule, quality, resources, and risk management
- Construction - work with the ESP through engineering and construction by providing technical guidance out in the field during execution activities
- Stakeholders - manage internal (projects team, operations, maintenance, management) and external stakeholders (contractors, consultants, ESP’s, IPPs)
- Review documentation, timelines, tender documents and provide monthly progress reporting
- Safety - take responsibility for HSE culture and performance on projects
- Strong experience in the mining, oil & gas or heavy industrial sector
- Demonstrated full life cycle project management experience
- Experience in, or strong knowledge of tendering and managing service providers after tender
- Tertiary education in engineering (preferably electrical) or industry experience
- Previous renewables project experience desired but not essential
- Astute stakeholder engagement skills with internal and external parties
- Ability to travel frequently to the QLD mine site as required
- Work within a newly created team as part of a global mining leader to shape renewables projects across the globe
