About the role

To meet the changing needs of our rapidly growing population, the City is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (SPM) to deliver a diverse range of projects from the City’s Capital Works Program. Projects will have a varying degree of complexity and value and will require the need for land acquisition and service relocations. The majority of projects will be civil (road, drainage and bridges) in nature however, the SPM must be versatile and able to deliver minor building and landscape projects where required.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to

  • This Senior Project Manager role is accountable for planning, managing, and monitoring all aspects of their allocated projects from design through to handover, including:
  • Project scoping, planning and development
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Construction management and oversight
  • Communication; including stakeholder engagement and project reporting
  • Risk Management; including identification and managing mitigation
  • Project tracking, budget management and acquittal reporting
  • Other duties as directed by Project Management Business Unit Management 

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management, structural engineering, or a related field and/or experience within a Project Management setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects on time, to budget and to the required standard.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Proven experience across a spectrum of project management duties including but not limited to:
    • Project Scoping and Planning
    • Procurement and Contract Management
    • Project Reporting
  • Experience in provision of technical advice, support, and assistance in a project management team environment and with members of the public.
  • A strong sense of collaboration and emphasis on teamwork.
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $103,827 to $116,957 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

About the City
