Talent International is searching for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client in their Tech Portfolio, This role is based in Fortitude Valley on a 12-month contract plus good likelihood for extensions.
About the role:
As part of a larger business transformation portfolio, the client has established ICT Delivery team to:
support and uplift ICT project delivery capability and quality
ensure adherence to Project delivery framework- P3MF (Project, Program & Portfolio management framework)
help embed project disciplines that deliver robust project hygiene and operational discipline in project management practices.
This focus provides the framework required to protect the ICT investment and creates the opportunity to optimise investments made in the technology landscape.
The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of assigned projects and pro-actively contribute to the improvement of processes and practices of ICT Delivery team, in alignment with the short- and long-term plans.
Responsibilities:
Management of ICT delivery projects as assigned by GM ICT Delivery.
Partner with senior business leaders to support the creation of initiative briefs, with clear articulation of business problem/opportunity, high level requirements and a defined scope, leveraging ICT Delivery resources including Business Analysts, PMs and Solution architect.
Development of business cases and project management plans for projects, per the requirements of the client's project management framework, that include the high-level project delivery strategy, budget, timeline, resource plan, and high-level solution strategy, for presentation to relevant leadership forums.
Sourcing of individuals, resources and suppliers required to deliver project objectives, in accordance with procurement policies and processes.
Manage the delivery of the ICT projects leveraging fit for purpose methodology - agile or waterfall or hybrid. Approach to be defined in consultation with GM ICT Delivery and in accordance with P3MF.
Produce and manage clear, high quality project reporting, including status reports, steering committee and board presentations, as required
Foster strong stakeholder engagement and provide transparent and clear communication to stakeholder groups throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage and lead project team and our delivery partners, in accordance with values and ensuring resources are supported and enabled to deliver successfully
Financial management - estimating, forecasting, and active cost control to ensure project is managed to budget, with support from project controller and in alignment with P3MF requirements.
Ensure the project conducts appropriate change readiness assessment, and change strategy is geared to support successful project execution, implementation and embedding post go-live.
Apply robust project change management discipline and tools to identify, and manage change requests with due rigour and in accordance with P3MF processes
Ensure project test strategy provides for high quality and stable solution and project resource plan accounts for suitably skilled resources to execute test strategy successfully. Test plans are clearly linked to requirements and test execution is managed in appropriate system with relevant reports produced at key testing milestones and presented to stakeholders and relevant forums for sign off.
Proactive management of risks and issues leveraging frameworks and tools provided by P3MF and ensuring prompt identification, analysis and assessment of impact is communicated to Steering Committee and relevant project stakeholders.
Support GM ICT Delivery in the establishment and ongoing improvement of ICT Delivery PMO processes and practices.
Actively support and contribute to the uplift of ICT Delivery PM capability through informal mentoring and coaching of PMs
Positively promote and actively role model the values and behaviours to support the delivery of our services.
Requirements:Technical skills:
Experience in delivering Finance, Asset management, CRM, Health & Safety, Risk/Audit, ERP, Document Management, HR systems and OT Systems in a hybrid outsourced environment.
Technical understanding of Finance, Asset management, CRM, Health & Safety, Risk/Audit, ERP, Document Management, HR or OT Systems highly desirable
Advanced skills in the development of detailed project plans and budgets.
Ability to structure project to ensure continuous release of benefits, identifying opportunities for quick wins balanced with foundation platform delivery.
Ability to identify risks associated with migration from legacy systems and formulate plan required ensure data resilience and business continuity through the transition from legacy system to new solution.
Strong understanding and experience of the requirement for, and implementation of, data integration between custom-built systems and commercial off-the-shelf systems.
Strong understanding of business process mapping, gathering of technical, functional and business requirements and translating to business systems solution design and technology selection.
Strong understanding of Change Management practices and methodologies - applying fit for purpose
Experience:
10+ yrs managing enterprise technology projects leveraging agile, waterfall or hybrid methodology
Project Management accreditation (Agile, PMI, CPPM (AIPM) or Prince2) or equivalent years industry experienc
The management of change within an established and geographically dispersed organisation
Strong organisation skills with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
Maintain and move rapidly and seamlessly between 'big picture' vision and detail/tactical level work plans.
Experience in delivering improvements of IT PMO Governance function, focused on practices/processes highly desirable.
