About the Role
The Senior Project Officer role is within the (NPWS) Digital Team, leading the improvement and development of functionality for the NPWS website and mobile app, with the objective of making it easier for people to find information on visitor experiences and conservation programs in national parks.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will set the direction and objectives, lead digital projects and provide mentoring of other product and project managers, as well as work closely with developers and other technical specialists. You will lead all aspects of digital production including: strategy and user research; requirements and UX design; development and testing; and deployment and analytics.
You will manage and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of diverse and complex projects, ensuring completion within required deadlines, quality standards and at or below budgets to support the achievement of divisional and departmental strategic and operational objectives.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will:
- Experience in managing consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve project deadlines and milestones to the required standards and within budget, given the need to simultaneously coordinate and deliver multiple projects which are often complex and interconnected.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level specialist advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and to support project development and delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy and environmental objectives and other projects and priorities
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
- Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, policies and programs, and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.
