Senior Psychologist Psychotherapist Development Role
- Join an innovative psychotherapy service and develop and extend your clinical skills and experience working with complex mental health with personality disorders and providing systemic interventions to clinical teams and staff
- Full or part time (minimum 0.8EFT) for 24 months fixed term
A Day in the Life
During the 24 month position you will function as a Senior Psychologist Psychotherapist (Grade 3) working independently to provide individual psychotherapy treatment. You will also be mentored by a Grade 4 psychology colleague to develop skills and competencies to provide secondary consultation, clinical leadership and comprehensive service plans to support the effective treatment pathway of identified consumers. You will experience a supportive development opportunity designed to enhance your psychotherapy and clinical leadership skills and provide you with an experience to prepare you for a future Grade 4 technical specialist role or other psychology leadership positions.
You will have:
- A reduced clinical caseload
- Fully funded training plus four hours per week (pro-rata) protected learning time in order to maintain or attain a credential or equivalent in a personality disorder treatment modality
- In situ mentorship of a Grade 4 technical specialist psychologist
- Access to in-house professional development
You will:
- Provide personality disorder psychotherapy to identified consumers
- Effectively engage in continuing training and professional development designed to enhance or extend your skills and experience
- Participate in the in situ mentorship designed to develop your skill and confidence in providing clinical leadership and direction to enhance the clinical pathways of frequent presenters to our crisis services
About You:
- Significant experience in the provision and application of clinical services to patients with personality disorders
- Highly developed formulation and clinical writing skills
- Flexible, open, adaptive mindset
- Motivation to learn and to develop your clinical leadership skills
What you need:
- At least 6 years’ experience as a registered psychologist
- Endorsement in clinical psychology or forensic psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia
- AHPRA approved supervision status (primary, secondary and higher degree level)
